AG Flower Seeds | Owner, Amy, standing inside her greenhouse watering plants

Hello!

My name is Amy, and I'm the face behind AG Flower Seeds. The seed shop is an extension of my cut flower farm, Adair Gardens, located in North Augusta in Eastern Ontario. I've been a cut flower grower for five years, time is flying by quickly! In my past lives I've worked in retail, customer service, tourism, and most recently the federal public service, but am lucky to now be able to spend my working days (and nights!) between the field, the greenhouse and the barn. I am extremely grateful to be able to grow flowers for my local community and for area florists and designers.

The seed shop seems like a natural progression of the farm - I've spent endless hours searching online for different and interesting seed varieties to try. I love shopping for seeds, opening the envelopes and boxes when they arrive, and all the different seed packets. I enjoy the challenge of giving seeds the growing conditions they need to thrive and I try to leave some in the packet to try again if I don't get it right! There's not much more satisfying than looking out at the flower field in late summer, knowing that most of the flowers were just seeds (some tiny specks!) only a handful of months ago.

I've been working behind the scenes developing relationships with trusted seed breeders and brokers here at home and in a number of different countries around the world. It's important for all of us to know where our seeds are coming from, so seed packets will always show the country of origin as well as the germination rate, when available. My goal is to stock the seed shop with the tried and true cut flower varieties, and to also find interesting varieties that you might want to try on your farms.

Thanks for being here and for giving our shop a try!
